I am guessing that Ubuntu changed the way they run things on there installs. I was only able to load Ubuntu off of a windows installer rather then the Live CD. This installation of Ubuntu was the Hardy Hereon version. I opened the program on XP and the installation files on its own. I then rebooted the system and found that Ubuntu had configured the Windows Startup and Recovery system to load itself up. (at least I don't need to load up GRUB for this one.)
The Ubuntu initial install desktop showed up. I click on the "install" executable and followed the setup wizard, I allocated 30GB to Ubuntu.
The next phase is typically where I give in. I have always had problems installing internet connections to any Linux system. However I have found some pretty promising tutorials on getting Wireless to work. Here's hoping!
